"Let all things their Creator bless,
And worship Him in humbleness,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Oh, praise the Father, praise the Son,
And praise the Spirit, three in One!"

-St. Francis of Assisi, William H. Draper

If you attended Lynelle Ellis' and Jerry Hartman's lecture at Sabbath Seminar last week, you know that the fourth annual "National Day of Unplugging" began Friday Night, March 3. A project of "ReBoot," a Jewish non-profit that seeks to invite people to try out some of Judaism's spiritual practices, the holiday is intentionally planned around the Sabbath hours.

Of course, many Adventists make each and every Sabbath effectively a day for unplugging. We seek to make it special, holy, different; a day for connecting with community and our Creator. On this Sabbath especially, we encourage you to shut off electronic devices, get outside, lean firmly into people, build relationships and experiences, and invest in what matters most.

For more information about the project, contact WWU's Lynelle Ellis at lynelle.ellis@wallawalla.edu and visit www.nationaldayofunplugging.com.

MUSIC NOTE

We thank the many students and community members of the WWU Wind Symphony, directed by Brandon Beck, and the musicians comprising University Singers and I Cantori for sharing their music with us. You can hear more music from the choirs and the WWU Symphony Orchestra in their winter quarter concert today at 4pm here in the church Sanctuary.

The Wind Symphony plays two pieces based on hymns — Exultation is based on Hymn No.2, “All Creatures of Our God and King” and the postlude is based on No.10, “Come, Christians, Join to Sing.” The choral offertory, likewise, is based on Hymn No.103, “O God, Our Help.” The other choral anthem, despite the Latin title, is sung in English. As you prepare your heart to worship I invite you to silently meditate on the words of these hymns or the text of the first anthem, given here.

Salvator mundi
O saviour of the world,
who by Thy cross and Thy precious blood
hast redeemed us,
save us and help us,
we humbly beseech thee, O Lord.

-Kraig Scott
