Walla Walla University Church
December 17, 2016
The One Project will be in San Diego February 24- 27, 2017. Join Pastor Alex, Paddy, and hundreds of others as they turn their focus to seeing Jesus in and through the book of Revelation.
This year, the One Project is made up of three events: "Resound Worship" on Friday, February 24, "The One Project Gathering" on Sabbath and Sunday, February 25-26, and the "Create Conference" on Monday, February 27. You may attend one, two, or all three of these events.
Visit the1project.org to register, the best rates are only available through December 31, 2016. Feel free to connect with any of our pastors or WWU chaplain for more information about this worthwhile event.
We thank several musicians today for sharing their beautiful music. Sam Derting is a graduate of the WWU music program and we are thrilled that he along with his wife Jaimie and daughter Imogen again live in the Walla Walla valley. Our guest organist is Richard Scott of the WWU Library, and joining him is his good friend Sarah Thomson, theatre arts teacher at College Place High School and director of children’s ministries at Walla Walla Presbyterian Church. Sarah is a Walla Walla native and graduate of Wa-Hi. She also holds degrees from Whitworth University and Grand Canyon University. Please join me in welcoming and thanking all of these musicians.
As you prepare your heart to worship I invite you to silently meditate on the words of our hymns or the first anthem, “What Songs Were Sung,” part of which are given here.
We cannot tell
We do not know
What songs were sung
So long ago
When Mary birthed her own sweet Son
And peace and love
Became as one
AT THE UNIVERSITY CHURCH
We are taught to forgive--multiple times even. But are some offenses unforgiveable?
The University Church budget funds many important aspects of our local ministry. Although pastors' salaries are funded by donations marked "tithe", the University Church budget is what subsidizes our amazing K-12 school programs at Walla Walla Valley Academy and Rogers Adventist School. It also makes our worship services and broadcast ministry possible. Thank you for your generous and systematic support!
As always - we welcome your gifts made right here on our website. Click Here to Give!
