Walla Walla University Church
June 4, 2016
We celebrate with Walla Walla Valley Academy and other high school students as they complete their years. Congratulations, seniors! Your church is proud of you and looks forward with hope and joy for what God will do through you!
This marks the end of the academic year for I Cantori of Walla Walla University. Please join me in thanking the hard-working students who comprise this small choir including the accompanist Frankie Bones. The prelude presents a new work written for I Cantori by WWU alumni Reginald Unterseher and his wife Sheila Dunlop. In an introductory note, the composer explains that this piece “follows the tradition of hymns and spirituals such as ‘Shall We Gather At The River,’ ‘Deep River,’ and ‘When Peace, Like a River.’ The text follows:
Just below senses, the river flows, boundless
We know it in dreams,
wake to fading memory, with fresh tears
The river, the home of dreams, where all those we love gather
The meadow of sentient immortal flowers, Colors impossible, Beings both here and gone, Air infused with wisdom
The river flows boundless bringing us home.
AT THE UNIVERSITY CHURCH
The University Church budget funds many important aspects of our local ministry. Although pastors' salaries are funded by donations marked "tithe", the University Church budget is what subsidizes our amazing K-12 school programs at Walla Walla Valley Academy and Rogers Adventist School. It also makes our worship services and broadcast ministry possible. Thank you for your generous and systematic support!
As always - we welcome your gifts made right here on our website. Click Here to Give!
