MUSIC NOTE

We thank a small army of wonderful musicians for sharing their music. Sharon Schafer, an educator and nurse who also completed an organ minor here at WWU, serves as our guest organist. Her children Hannah and Samuel join Margo Cox, a WWU graduate and piano teacher, for our prelude. We hear from Sam Derting—another WWU music graduate—accompanied by Margo Cox on the piano for our anthem. We also thank Schuan Carpenter, who leads the praise band.

Today’s psalm is a particular favorite of mine and has been used as inspiration by many composers. As you prepare your heart to worship I invite you to meditate silently on Psalm 84 or on Hymn No.62, part of which is given here.

How lovely is They dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts to me!
The tabernacles of Thy grace
How pleasant, Lord, they be!

-Kraig Scott
