We thank Ariana Salmon and the Berean Fellowship for leading the praise band and Sophia Rich for sharing her singing talents with us. A four-year voice student of Dr. Christine Janis, Sophia graduated from WWU in June with an English major and music minor. She sings a favorite movement from Cantata 147 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750).

The English organist George Oldroyd (1887–1956) based the prelude on a Latin poem given below. In verses such as John 14:1,6 translators variously render Holy Spirit as Comforter, Helper, Advocate, and Paraclete — an advocate or helper. As you prepare your heart to worship God I invite you to meditate silently on this text:

Pour light upon us from above,
And fire our hearts with Thy strong love.
Praise to the Father and the Son,
Through all the ages as they run;
And to the Holy Paraclete
Be praise with them and worship meet. Amen.

-Kraig Scott

The University Church Budget funds operations subsidies for both Rogers & WWVA. In addition to this essential     investment, the church also keeps a "Student Aid" fund used exclusively to help church member families with tuition at our schools. The students this benefits might not otherwise be able to enjoy Christian education. To donate to "Student Aid," mark your gift on a tithe envelope or select it in giving options through or web portal (click the picture to the right).

University Church members who would like more information on how to obtain need-based tuition assistance for their children should contact the chair of our student-aid committee, Clare Thompson, at Application forms are available for pickup at the church office.

Give online by clicking here or the "give" button.

at this link, your username and password
is exactly the same.)
